The money path

Three steps. None go through us.

  • Client → Stripe. Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay — whatever Stripe supports in your region.
  • Stripe → your account. Your connected Stripe account. Your name on the merchant record.
  • Stripe → your bank. Stripe's normal payout schedule. No TrainedBy escrow. No waiting on us to release.

Platform fee

We take nothing from what your clients pay you.

Most coaching platforms take 5–15% of every client payment. On a £150 client paying for twelve months, that's £180–£270 a year, per client, gone before you see it. TrainedBy takes 0%. The subscription is fixed and visible. Nothing else moves to us.

Stripe Connect

You own the merchant relationship. We plug into it.

TrainedBy uses Stripe Connect, so the merchant of record is you, not us. You connect your own Stripe account in onboarding. Your business sits on your own dashboard. Stripe pays out to your bank on your schedule. If you already use Stripe, you keep the same account.

  • Set your own pricing, currency, and billing cycle.
  • Recurring subscriptions, paid-in-full plans, refunds — your call.
  • Your customers, payment history, and payouts stay yours if you ever leave.

Recovery

Money that almost slipped, caught.

A failed card on month three is the most expensive bug in coaching. TrainedBy is wired into Stripe's recovery flow so failed payments get retried, the client gets prompted to update their card, and outstanding balances surface inside the app — not a month later when you notice the missing payout.

  • Auto-retries on Stripe's recovery cadence.
  • Update-card prompts to the client before service drops.
  • Past-due clients visible in your cockpit, not buried in a Stripe email.

The math

The cut you don't pay is the easiest revenue you'll ever recover.

A coach with 25 clients at £150/month puts £45,000/year through the platform. A 10% cut is £4,500 a year, gone. A 5% cut is £2,250. TrainedBy's cut on that £45,000 is £0. The only line item you pay us is the subscription — covered by a single retained client.

Does TrainedBy take any percentage of client payments?

No. 0%. The only thing you pay TrainedBy is your subscription. Standard Stripe processing applies on top.

Whose Stripe account is it?

Yours. You connect your own through Stripe Connect during onboarding. You're the merchant of record.

What if I don't have a Stripe account yet?

The connect flow walks you through creating one in a few minutes.

What happens when a client's card fails?

Stripe retries on its recovery schedule, the client is prompted to update their card, and the outstanding payment surfaces in your cockpit.

Do you hold my client's money before paying me?

No. TrainedBy never holds the funds. Stripe routes payments directly to your connected account.

If I leave TrainedBy, what happens to my payments?

Your Stripe account is yours. Your customers and payment history stay with you.
